'The cards i have been dealt' is aisha's journey through life through poetry, touching on the set of circumstances they have been given before they ever got to make a choice. From coming out, to experiencing love, heartbreak, religious trauma, mental health struggles, navigating family life that is far from what she expected and seeing the systematic injustice in the world, the cards she has been dealt are a mix of advantages, limitations and realities that impact how she experiences the world as it is.
Split into six sections that each represent a specific card she has been dealt, aisha's debut poetry book was created for the sole purpose of reminding anyone that is going through any of these issues, that they are not alone and that she sees them.
